Dr. Tajul Islam

Mohammad Tajul Islam is an Adjunct Professor at the North South University and State University of Bangladesh. He is also an editorial board member of BMRC Bulletin. He teaches epidemiology, data analysis and statistical methods in health sciences for more than 20 years. He is a medical graduate with post-graduation in Tropical Medicine (DTM&H, MCTM) and Epidemiology (MPH) from the Mahidol University, Bangkok. His primary research interest is maternal and child health. He has authored or co-authored more than 25 articles published in the international peer reviewed journals including three books on SPSS, Stata, and Epidemiology. He was involved in a significant number of research projects implemented in Bangladesh, and served as a member of the technical committee for Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS). He is a regular reviewer of the International Journal of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (IJGO) and occasionally reviews articles from other international peer reviewed journals. He worked at several UN Agencies (WHO, UNICEF & UNFPA) and international organizations (JICA, Save the Children and ICDDR,B) for more than 25 years.

Dr. Zahidul Hasan

Professor Zahidul Hasan is a distinguished Senior Consultant in Microbiology and the Associate Director of Medical Services at Square Hospitals Ltd., Dhaka, Bangladesh. With extensive expertise in diagnostic medical microbiology, he has contributed significantly to advancing medical microbiology services in the region. Professor Hasan is also a highly skilled professional in infection prevention and control, playing a pivotal role in maintaining healthcare safety and standards. In addition, he is a passionate trainer of soft skills, empowering healthcare professionals to enhance their interpersonal and communication abilities. With his deep knowledge and dedication to medical excellence, he continues to make a substantial impact on the healthcare sector in Bangladesh.

Khandaker ATM.Farhad Hossain

Dr. Khondaker ATM Farhad Hossain is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 40 years of experience in the Bangladesh Government Health Sector. He has served at all tiers of healthcare, including Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary levels, and specializes in Public Health, Health System Strengthening, and Health Governance. Dr. Farhad has extensive experience in HPNSP Program Management, National Health Administration, and maintaining effective coordination with health sector regulatory authorities.

Dr. Farhad’s career spans numerous roles, including Medical Officer in various healthcare facilities, Assistant Director, and Deputy Director at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), and Director in health services management. He has also served as National Consultant for Quality of Care and Hospital Services Management at the DGHS, where his leadership contributed to the implementation of critical quality improvement initiatives across Bangladesh.

Dr. Farhad holds an MBBS from Rangpur Medical College and a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a major in Reproductive & Child Health from Atish Dipankar University of Science & Technology. He also completed a Certificate Course on Dermatology from the Tele Dermatology Foundation. Throughout his career, Dr. Farhad has been involved in public speaking, training conduction, and people management, and is proficient in MS Office and web applications.

Dr. Farhad is committed to advancing healthcare quality and public health systems in Bangladesh, contributing to both local and national healthcare reforms.

Dr. Md. Aminul Hasan

Dr. Md. Aminul Hasan, PhD Healthcare Leader | Quality Improvement Expert | UHC Advocate

Dr. Md. Aminul Hasan is a visionary healthcare professional with a PhD from Dhaka University and over two decades of experience in health system strengthening and quality assurance. Passionate about equitable access, he has been instrumental in advancing Bangladesh’s journey toward Sustainable Development Goals and Universal Health Coverage.

His expertise spans Maternal & Child Health, Total Quality Management, Clinical Governance, Public-Private Partnerships, and social health protection for RMG and tea garden workers. He previously served as Director of Hospitals at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and Focal Person of the Quality Improvement Secretariat.

Currently, Dr. Hasan is a Board Member of the Asian Society for Quality in Healthcare (ASQua), Secretary General of the Quality Care Network, General Secretary of the UHC Forum Bangladesh, and Faculty Member at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). A regular speaker at global conferences (ISQua, RMNCAH, ASQua), he continues to shape policies that make quality healthcare accessible to all.
